As with anything over time, everything will eventually need to be repaired. Since asphalt is workable when heated it becomes an easy enough repair job when it is properly prepared and carried out.
More and more people are choosing LVT flooring. Brands such as Amtico and Karndean are being used ontop of our asphalt floors all the time. Some floor fitters are opting for asphalt even if there isn't a damp problem as they want it to be future proof. As long as everything is prepared properly and the job is carried out professionally then you should never have a problem. With this way of thinking, we have never had a problem with any of our floors and all of our clients are happy and satisfied of our work with some even recomending us to family & friends.
Newly laid asphalt is black however over time it lightens to a grey but during that time the new roof absorbs the suns rays and can heat up enough to make the asphalt move/sink. While it is not a neccessity, we do prefer you have your new roof painted to prolong its life.
